My husband likes to tell my son to say things like “what’s up broski,” “sup brah,” “slap da bass man,” and “fail.” What did I get myself into?

day twenty-two :: something you want to do before you die
To be honest, I don’t like to really to say that there are certain things I want to do in my lifetime. I make goals in hope of accomplishing them, but the majority of them aren’t that important to me when I look at my life in the big picture. Circumstances change. I change. The environment changes around me. The only thing I...

day twenty :: how important you think education is
I think education is extremely important. Obviously, I think people should be equipped with at least a High School diploma as it has been determined that a HS diploma is “sufficient” education (today? Probably not, but oh well.) I think that beyond High School, however, it’s very important to continue your education in one way...

karma. karmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarmakarma.
When so many things go sour, isn’t it best to look inward for answers? Maybe karma isn’t some universal power, punishing those who deserve it, but an extension of ourselves, reminding us to take care of our shit; keep our noses clean. If you’re expecting something bad to happen… chances are it will. If you messed...

day seventeen :: your highs and lows of this past year
2009 was pretty amazing. I had lots of fun little adventures with my boys, got married, got pregnant immediately following, moved into a new home, went on lots of fun little roadtrips. I would definitely say 2009 was a year of highs. Had a couple lows. There was lots of family drama where people just did not understand and unhealthy situations...
OB appointment at 3:50. I get more and more nervous every time I go. 33 weeks today! 4-8 weeks and I’ll have a full-term baby! I keep feelin’ February 28th. I did go past my due date & was induced with Emerson though. If I’m induced, she’ll be born on March 17 (St. Patty’s Day!) or March 18th. Also during Spring Break… I have to say I’m not totally...
day sixteen :: your views on mainstream music
I like what I like. I don’t care if its mainstream or underground; catchy or obscure. I’m not one of those people that hops from trend to trend, but I’m also not one of those people who will only listen to a band if they only have a small following. It’s music… let yourself enjoy what your soul is drawn to. The end!

I’m way behind! I’ll play catch up throughout the day.
day twelve :: bullet your whole day
Well, since this was Saturday’s subject, I’ll bullet Saturday.
Emerson woke us up between 6:00am-6:30am.
Brian let me go back to sleep. I guess I get away with this because he knows if I don’t have enough sleep (while pregnant) then I’m a grouch until I sleep!
Woke up...
day eleven :: put your ipod on shuffle and write 10 songs that pop up
Well, my personal ipod crashed and I lost all of my music from the past four years. Big ol’ frownie face. I did, however, buy Brian his own ipod for Christmas and we’ve got a decent amount of music on it. We listen to all of the same stuff, for the most part. Here we go…

real talk
For awhile now, I’ve been uncertain whether Eisley Harper is the right name for our little girl. There are so many names out there that I love. I kind of feel like we jumped the gun on naming her. She was Eisley before she even had girl parts. Eisley isn’t a name that we’ve been set on for ages, however. With Emerson, Emerson Jude just felt right. No other options were appealing,...
sownbones asked: Oh they will start a righteous band for sure! I wish my step mom was just a little less "momma bird" with my sister so I could just be like "Hey, I'm taking Madison to the park for a couple hours!" cause she needs to meet your handsome little bugger. Hope you all are doing well amiga. :)

I just read through some of my posts. Sheesh, excuse the grammar mistakes and anything I’ve mistyped. I swear when I’m on a break from school, part of my brain shuts down. Good thing school starts next week! Speaking of school… I’m finally adding my Family & Human Development minor. I’m already half way done with it… may as well right? :)
day eight :: a moment you felt the most satisfied with your life
I honestly can’t pinpoint a specific time in my life. I’d say when it really hits me, as of late, is when I’m relaxing at home (a clean home, I might add) with my boys, snuggled up with my husband, seeing Emerson’s smile & feeling Eisley’s little nudges. Sometimes I’m astonished at where I am in...
